frolijahfan: (2010 bday from annywn)
I've never done one of these but it seems a nice thing to do to start what will likely be a tough year.

The first 5 people to comment (and more if I have the funds) will receive a surprise from me at some point in 2017. Anything from a card, postcard, a podfic, something hand-made - absolutely any surprise! It will happen when the mood comes over me and I find something that I believe would suit you and make you happy.

If you can, post this in your own journal and pay it forward. Let's do more kind and loving things for each other in 2017, without any reason other than to make each other smile and show that we think of each other.

Comments are screened so you can leave your address, Feel free to include an idea, theme, a link to a wish list, or tell me what you collect (dinosaurs, rocks, ticket stubs, etc etc etc). Also, please note you can sign up for a surprise even if you choose not to put this in your own journal. I know not everyone can.

Thanks to dear [personal profile] lbilover for the lovely card and the F/S flipbook. It was very obliging of your dolls to be so cooperative and pose so very nicely.

*hugs*

Here's to a very happy birthday to dear [livejournal.com profile] lbilover, wishing you and your doggies a day full of hobbity and S/E goodness. Sadly, the Muse is still on an extended vacation (and didn't think to ask me along, darn her!), so I've nothing ficwise to add to the wishes. Have a great day, Ellen!

Wishing a very happy birthday to [personal profile] lbilover. This isn't much, but you did say that you would like one of my S/E plot bunnies if I could get them to settle long enough to become something. So here it is: my very first S/E.
I hope that you enjoy it.

Many thanks to dear [personal profile] lbilover fo the lovely card and the pendant. What a clever idea! And our very own letter from Father Christmas! You did the Professor proud, you did. I loved the way that you worked the Fellowship into Father Christmas's world and how they managed to help him solve his labor problems. (and he's not the only one who's not quite certain about the consumer price index!)

Wishing the happiest of birthdays to dear [personal profile] lbilover. Sadly, my meager store of creativity is being eaten up by the mathom exchange, so I have no fic, only sincere good wishes for a wonderful day and a great year, with everything you could ever think to wish for and maybe a few unexpected (but pleasant!) surprises thrown in when you're not looking-- although that's actually redundant, isn't it? If they're unexpected, by definition they're surprises. Anyway, despite my grammatical issues, I hope that your day has been great!

I'd hoped to have come up with something shiny and new, but this week has been so busy that I've been lucky to get online at all. So all I have to offer is a slightly used (which is, after all, the definitin of a mathom, isn't it?) mathom for you.

Many thanks to dear [livejournal.com profile] lbilover for the gorgeous Woodjin-y card and Woodjin fic and the lovely pendant. I love them all! Christmas with Dr. Sean and the Woodjin and their ever-growing extended family brings a smile not only to my face but also to my heart.
Hugs and wishes for a wonderful Christmas.

Yay!

Our levy passed! As did one of the other two (the other single city library). Sadly, the county library system failed again.

Our library's got a levy on the ballot tomorrow (as do the other 2 libraries in the county), so if anyone has some spare positive thoughts or vibes that you'd care to send our way, it'd be appreciated.

Gee, this is the same card I got the last time I did a tarot meme. Still can't quite figure out how my answers came up with this result, but it's a lovely card nonetheless...

You are The Star

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Star is one of the great cards of faith, dreams realised

The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one.

What Tarot Card are You?

Wishing dear [personal profile] lbilover the happiest of birthdays, with all the hobbits, white stags, whippets, Mounties, oblivious widowers, pool boys, angelic ex-garbagemen (and their adoring accountants), photographers and their empathical models, FrodoandSam and SeanandElijah you could ever wish for.
I nagged the Muse until she came up with this.

A special occasion )

frolijahfan: Frodo with Ring (bday icon from annwyn)
Just got back from Dragon*Con. After an inauspicious start (we almost didn't make it to the hotel-- the taxi driver hit a canyon (calling it a pothole is totally inadequate) across the road and the rear of the van actually got stuck. He had to back down the very steep hill and try and maneuver around the edge. I had visions of our having to get out and walk the rest of the way, hauling our luggage. :-( And then when we got to the hotel they had screwed up our reservations and put the three of us in a room that was barely big enough for two. The look on the check-in clerk's face was priceless ("All of you are going to be in this room?"). One queen bed and fire regulations precluded putting in a rollaway (no room for one, anyway). So I ended up sleeping six nights in the chair. We had a very obliging housekeeping person who supplied lots of pillows and bedding, and I fortunately have no problems sleeping sitting up, unlike either of my friends, so it actually wasn't horrendous, but still... For $190.00 a night, it's not what you expect.), it was lots of fun, but v.v.v. crowded (big surprise there, huh?). I went to a couple of panels about The Hobbit (interesting but nothing really new) and answered seven trivia questions at the One Ring.net table and won a lovely map of New Zealand with filming locations marked on it. And I bought a really neat t-shirt with "If you can read this, I found your ring" written in Tengwar-style letters.

Now I just have to try and catch up with a week of LJ and e- and snail mail (mostly bills, that). Am pooped.
