Calloo, callay! I've paid off my mortgage! Now I'll be able to finally see about getting a computer and internet access at home (and less fun things like waterproofing the basement :( and saving more for retirement).
Dinner hour's over--back to work. *re-lurking*

Yeah, the mortgage has pretty much eaten my brain--and just about every spare penny--the past few years. Thank goodness there were no early payment penalties or anything beyond their fees for the payment statement and the wire transfer charge ('cause after 11 years, they couldn't accept one last personal check. Go figure).

Thanks! The birthday was fine, but the mortgage was the much greater reason to celebrate, to my mind. (Although I don't 'spose that I'll really believe it until I have the deed in my hand and every last scrap of the paperwork accounted for. Right now it's still not-quite-real).
