Oh, you're a Deryni fan? I haven't read any of her most recent books, but I started reading the series when the first book came out eons ago, and I loved it very much! I'm glad to hear that you'll be spending more time with your hobbits. Hopefully that will help you overcome your secret fear of Frodo. :D:D:D

Yeah, Kurtz had been one of my favorite authors for many years. I got a copy of Camber of Culdi from one of those remainder book catalogs, read it, said "Omigosh this is *fantastic*" and immediately drove off to the nearest bookstore to get everything else she had out-- the original Alaric Morgan trilogy and St. Camber. And then had to wait years and years and years for Camber the Heretic to be published. She's been at a couple of cons that I've attended in the past few years and is currently all excited about a Deryni movie-- it's been optioned and she's working with the writer/producer/director(?). While I'd love to see these books as movies, I'm not going to hold my breath. I still shudder at what they did to another much-loved book (The Dark is Rising).
And working on the feeling that you should face your fears, I got up at 6:15 a.m. (blergh) to watch three hours of the dreaded Frodo Baggins. *g*

Oh Alaric Morgan! *happy sigh* I was so in love with him! If I re-read the trilogy now, I'd probably slash him with Derry. :)) I wasn't as crazy about the Kelson stories, I have to admit.

How totally cool that you've met her!! Did you like her? Which book was optioned for a movie? And yep, there's good reason to be apprehensive. Most movies just don't do justice to the books. :/

Well, I think getting up at 6:15 a.m. to watch three hours of Frodo was definitely a big step on the road to curing your fear! :D:D:D
